Protect your hearing month

October isn’t just the month of Halloween, hot cocoa and cooler weather, it’s also a month bringing awareness to the protection of your hearing!

The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders recommends that you :

Turn down the volume on all electronics, devices, etc., NIHL, states that sounds above 85 A-weighted decibels put you at risk!

Stay a distance away from intense noise. The closer you are to intense noise, such as concert speakers, fireworks, etc., the more likely you are to suffer from hearing loss.

Wearing hearing earplugs or earmuffs when too close to these types of intense noise may assist in preventing hearing loss.
